In February half term we ran our first intensive hydrotherapy and physiotherapy SDR block.
This course involved daily land-based physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions and a fun swim session at the end of each day.
We are so pleased to be able to report that by the end of the week, C achieved the following:
- She sat up from lying down, a skill she has never achieved unaided before.
- She stood for a few minutes, holding onto a ladderback with only light touch pelvic support.
- Her walking pattern in her walker improved, and some of her sessions are now partly run without her ankle and foot splints ( AFO’s).
- She can actively (only just with a lot of effort) take her legs apart and lift them up when in the pool. We hope she will achieve this on land during her next block at Easter.
